Entry clearance for the UK will only be granted after your biometrics, normally your facial image and fingerprints, have been enrolled at a Visa Application Centre (VAC). Relocating to the UK may take some time, and will depend on your ability to travel to a third country to provide biometrics. We will refer to the information you provided in your completed form when considering your Expression of Interest. We will also consider any relevant information provided by the British Council or GardaWorld relating to employment and role(s).

if following the discharge to assess model, prompt assessments of short-term recovery care and support needs (and after a period of recovery, assessments of long-term or ongoing care and support needs) should take place after discharge in non-acute settings (mainly in people’s homes)

Requirements for ECFMG Certification for 2024 Match

To meet the clinical and communication skills requirements for ECFMG Certification, eligible IMGs can use the Pathways. The Pathways allow qualified IMGs to continue to pursue ECFMG Certification and to compete for positions in U.S. graduate medical education (GME), while providing assurance to the public and U.S. GME programs that IMGs are ready to enter supervised training.

As part of the Pathways, applicants are required to attain a satisfactory score on the Occupational English Test (OET) Medicine to satisfy the communication skills requirement for ECFMG Certification. All Pathways applicants, regardless of native language, language of instruction at medical school, or citizenship, must satisfy this requirement in addition to meeting the requirements of a specific Pathway. There will be no exceptions. Under Pathway 3 in year 1, the government will consider eligible British Council and GardaWorld contractors and Chevening alumni considered for resettlement to the UK. The FCDO have set out further information on how this works. We encourage anyone who thinks they might be eligible to complete the Expression of Interest as soon as possible, and before the deadline on Monday 15 August 2022.
