There are many ways to create rapport: matching (pacing) the breath of the person, matching the predicates they use (visual, auditory, kinesthetic), blinking etc.. basically, matching the unconscious. The eyes show how a person process information, and in which ways they are most dominant: UP (left or right) = Visual / SIDES (left or right) = Auditory / DOWN (left or right) = Kinesthetic. These are basic patterns, and can be different from person to person. I will know for sure by asking the right questions and observing attentively how they 'go inside' and access the information to receive an answer. That being said, I would not recommend this as the best book on the subject. Yes, it is a classic, and yes, it is an excellent introduction to the subject, but remember that this was written now decades ago and that both of the authors have made quantum developments in their studies since then. The prospective reader might be advised to look into more recent works by the authors and their students. The Frog Prince; or, Iron Henry" ( German: Der Froschkönig oder der eiserne Heinrich, literally "The Frog King or the Iron Henry") is a German fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm and published in 1812 in Grimm's Fairy Tales (KHM 1). Traditionally, it is the first story in their folktale collection. The tale is classified as Aarne-Thompson type 440. [1]

You will always get answers to your questions insofar as you have the sensory apparatus to notice the responses. And rarely will the verbal or conscious part of the response be relevant." Events at Brown University (2008), Rhode Island State Council on the Arts. Accessed March 26, 2017. Linda Medley's graphic novel Castle Waiting from 1996 contains a character named Iron Henry or Iron Heinrich, who has 3 iron bands around his heart to repair the heartbreak he suffered when his son died of a fearful curse. Bill Willingham's graphic novel series Fables features many fairytale characters living as refugees in New York, including "Flycatcher" the former Frog Prince, now a janitor and errand boy.

The book is divided into three main sections, which were presented on three separate days at the seminar: Frogs Into Princes is a transcript from a live seminar conducted by Bandler and Grinder. Because the seminar was for therapists, most of the techniques’ applications are discussed in a therapist-patient scenario. Therapists and psychologists will find the applications of the techniques extremely useful for improving therapeutic communication with patients. Mieder, Wolfgang (2014). The subject matter of each day is somewhat disconnected, though the central theme of "content-free process therapy" is evident throughout. Let's examine each day in turn.

Bandler and Grinder are the Fathers of Neuro-Linguistic Programming and they make no mistake about demystifying the whole science of excellence and human achievement. Pettman, Dominic (2017). Note that throughout, the therapist has no idea what the "bad thing" is, nor what the "good resource" is - he or she simply gives content-agnostic process instructions. This approach doesn't really resonate with me personally, but I can imagine it might work for some. The last section of Frogs Into Princes gives an exact formula for reframing. The neuro-linguistic technique of reframing involves changing the way you see an event to change its meaning. I have found it to be one of the greatest techniques to overcome fear and build unstoppable confidence for myself and others I’ve helped. I feel reframing is a must-have technique for any person who is interested in getting past problems and obtaining the most out of life. The list of applications for every technique in the three sections are endless. They are salesmen of a pseudo-science. NLP is has only thin crust of science to it. It pretty much starts and ends with the Neuro and Linguistic. No substance at all to the "theory". Frogs and Princes" is full of interesting, underdeveloped, and unsubstantiated ideas. The idea of content-free therapy is interesting and provocative, and I do hope it's been examined in greater detail elsewhere. I'm intrigued by the idea of representational systems, and I like the authors' constant reminders that "when you do something that doesn't work, do something else" (160) - even if complete flexibility detracts from the viability of NLP as a well-defined therapeutic model.

Olcott, Frances Jenkins. Wonder tales from Baltic wizards: from the German and English. London, New York: Longman, Green and Co. 1928. pp. 154–158. This is nothing more than the excuse of the ineffectual miracle worker, who defends himself by arguing that prayer always works. And when it doesn't, it's because you never really "believed" in the first place. This kind of reasoning drives me absolutely crazy. Outside the realm of pure mathematics, if a theory is unfalsifiable, it's absolutely uninteresting. This kind of solipsistic reasoning about abounds, and greatly detracts from the author’s credibility throughout. This book is a little hard to get into because it is essentially a transcript of a Seminar that Richard and John put on to discuss their views on Neuro-Linguistic Programming to other therapists... These are two of the founders of NLP and it was written in 1979, a time when NLP was trying to establish itself in the therapeutic community. This is readily apparent by the stabs the authors make at existing paradigms. The book does not mention which author is talking so it is difficult to get a grasp of who`s viewpoints are whoms, so it is assumed that both authors are in agreement with the concepts presented. If you get out of the mindset of expecting the concept of NLP being presented in an organized easy to understand manner, then one can glean some interesting information and pearls from this book that I will share. Massey, Irving (1983). "The Effortless in Art and Ethics: Meditations on 'The Frog King, or Iron Henry' ". The Georgia Review. 37 (3): 640–658. JSTOR 41398572.In other words, you need a good unconscious systematic repertoire of patterns for each choice point that you have that's going to come up repetitively in your work: How do I establish rapport with this other human being? How do I respond in a situation in which they don't have information consciously and verbally to respond
