This artisanal moonshine is a harmonious balance of sweet and spicy, ensuring a taste that is both familiar and delightfully unique. Devon Cove creates exceptional vodka using King Edward Potatoes which are lovingly grown on their family farm overlooking the beautiful fishing village of Hope Cove. Their copper pot, single distilled vodka is handcrafted in an artisan distillery, made only from the finest ingredients, to ensure its smooth, luxurious taste. I won’t go into the whole process in this article – you’ll have to do a tour to find out – but they use different stills to most gin distilleries, which enables them to infuse many more flavours than you’ll find elsewhere.

Exeter Quayside Distillery offers full distillery tours, where you can learn about the exact process that goes into making their gin. This is followed by Hamish’s ‘Apple Pie Moonshine’, another intensive process which Hamish admits has taken many months to perfect, the base spirit is grain alcohol which is blended with apple juice concentrate, apple syrup, demerara sugar and cinnamon. The process can’t be rushed therefore production is very time consuming but the result is a real crowd pleaser, one sip and you are hooked.
