Middle note features a wallop of cedar balanced by ambrette. Yes at this point I do start to feel as if I've been shopping in the men's department. White Patchouli is not labeled as unisex. Don't tell that to my son who in all his male swag and glory almost fought me for my trail sized sample.

With the richest, smoothest, creamiest, most intense fragrances coming from white flowers; not highly coloured ones. I posted a question about patchouli fragrances in the consulting thread relatively soon, tested some of the recommendations there and found the great Taklamakan. Since White Patchouli, probably by chance, was not recommended to me, he was still out of my mind. Beautiful Ms. Rose flits about. I think she is the hostess along with her handsome lover, Mr. Patch. But this couple enjoys their guests and they do their best to make them all shine at this beautiful gala.The projection is seriously real and the lasting power is crazy, but the overall feel..mood of this scent is actually quite gentle, restrained. It's smooth, a little dusty and dry but the peony and jasmine give it the smallest hint of floral sweetness that actually makes this, im gonna say it, ultra feminine. To me this smells feminine. Quirky and a little out there yes, but feminine nonetheless.

If only Tom Ford White Patchouli upheld the promise of its opening accord, I would have been ready to give it 5 stars. It opens up on such a sultry accord of spices and amber with patchouli’s chocolate bitterness perceptible underneath; it is difficult not to fall under its spell. Yet, after an opulent prelude, the composition veers into the barren territory of sharp woods and pale musks. Perhaps this suggests that I prefer my patchouli in the darker registers, full of its earthy, pungent facets. Opening part is very loud and harsh for me but when it calms down,I can wear it and tolerate it but I can't like it White Patchouli is without a doubt one of the best Patchouli fragrances that I have encountered on the market. It smells Rich, Bold, Sexy and quite unisex to my nose. Some people say it smells very feminine, but I think that its bold enough to be worn by both Men and Women. After a couple hours White Patchouli looses the strange ointment edge from coriander, and a non-indolic jasmine with "golden" rose step forward, becoming a quite beautiful, rather unisex floral as it is balanced with the rich patchouli/sandalwood base and a sweet note that reminds me to hop (the herb it is used to aromatize beer). It has a remarkable tenacity but on the other hand, stays quite close to the skin.Blind Buy Report: If you're looking for anything remotely resembling dark brown earthy patchouli : look elsewhere. TOM FORD may have been playing abstract artist here but White Patchouli is LOVELY nonetheless. It's very sweet with a hint of sharpness and a tiny dash of spice. Nothing overwhelms or will poke out to annoy anybody. I'm feeling like this should have been called "Amber Patchouli" because it's got a warmth to the base notes. Still too manly. I'm going to actually use this as a base for other scents. You know, something worn on the skin to GROUND the scent. (Perfumes never last on my skin, so using this on the skin will perfectly layer). In fact, it's really quite nice and better than some of the other fragrances I have tried, lately - but, because of the dominant notes (which are not really my favourites), probably not something I would bother buying. I never ever thought of that someday I'd say that I'm happy that I didn't give away my bottle of white patchouli,although it's not a full 3.4 oz bottle anymore thanks to the decants of it I gave away in past months,but still I have more than half of it's precious juice saved in the bottle and I know that I'm gonna use it with joy.I hope that dear hubby can change his idea about it too because anyway I'm gonna wear it that is, or may reasonably be considered to be, defamatory, libellous, hateful, racially or religiously biased or offensive, unlawfully threatening or unlawfully harassing to any individual, partnership or corporation;
