About this deal

ITU G.992.1 (G.DMT), ITU G.992.2 (G.Lite), ITU G.997.1, ITU G.992.5, ITU G.993.1, ITU G.993.2, ITU G.992.3

Key Features

When switched to Router mode, the Vigor 166 provides the full list of menu options, with settings to have the Vigor 166 connect to the ISP itself, as well as configure NAT and Firewall settings. Wall or Shelf Mountable Standard (plaintext) HTTP is disabled, and encrypted TLS/SSL is in use. Use a https prefix to access the router WUI using SSL/TLS.

You can see the Dashboard GUI of Vigor 166. Open the Operation Mode section from the menu on the left hand side The default VLAN tagging of 101 should be left untouched, it is needed for a connection via BT Infinity infrastructure. After the reboot, Vigor 166 should come with some additional features such as basic LAN, Routing, NAT, and Firewall functionality. If you need a more advanced set of features, consider upgrading to Vigor 276x series or one of our load-balancer such as the Vigor 286x series. Can be installed securely on a wall or shelf with screw fixings to hold it in place. Mounting kit included. Once the settings are complete and boredom with reboots has set-in installing a WAN cable will send the unit into DSL READY mode:The option to set the router (ie default mode) to Modem/Bridge Mode can be found under the lefthand Operation Mode menu item. Again, this prompts another reboot:

Licquorice is correct with the setup in his picture where he set the pc's ip to 192.168.2.2 however i would like to add that when i set mine up i connected it directly to the pc via its P2 port and bypassed the router/switch's completely. Ive been running it for 24 hours now and haven't noticed any changes and the notes seem to hint it's more of a internal maintenance fix (something about the uptime stats now working correctly and a update to the snmp protocol)DrayTek offer a large range of G.fast, VDSL and ADSL modem equipped router models, as well as the dedicated Vigor 130 and Vigor 166 modems. The Vigor 166 modem is designed exclusively for use in the UK, with the required network settings pre-set, such as the Openreach VLAN tag. d. Important! Make sure that VLAN Tag Insertion is enabled, and set to 101 for the UK, or 10 for Ireland. In the original spec. released by DrayTek it included coverage of both 106Mhz & 212Mhz G.Fast bands, but this stop-gap model, called the GEN1 version, is 106Mhz only.
