About this deal

The average lifespan of an LED bulb is significantly longer than that of a CFL lamp, providing up to 50,000 hours of light in comparison to an average CFL's 8,000 hours. Heat most CFLs take a while to work up to full light intensity, which makes them unsuited for use in places where the light is switched on and off for short lengths of time (like the toilet).

Horsepower (hp) is a unit of power most commonly used to reference the output of engines or motors. There are a number of different definitions of horsepower. Two of them are mechanical horsepower and metric horsepower. LED tube lights use between 40 and 50% less energy than fluorescent tube lights, which is of course comparable to CFLs that utilise the same technology. Fluorescent Tube Light Wattage Replace older light bulbs, particularly incandescent light bulbs, with more efficient LED light bulbs. A typical incandescent light bulb requires 75 W while an LED only requires 9 W. LEDs cost more in the short term, but if you have the opportunity to replace any incandescent light bulbs you may have, it will lead to significant future savings. The appropriate colour temperature enables you to choose the ambiance you would like for each room. Colour temperature is expressed in kelvin. The higher the colour temperature, the higher the Kelvin rating and the more blueish the colour. Light sources with a (comparatively) low temperature tend to be more reddish. Note that there is no precise equivalent, and the more significant part is an approximation. Another disparity comes with the various available products so that the equivalent will vary slightly from one product to another.LED equivalents to metal halide lighting offer similar energy savings as over sodium lighting – around 50%. Metal Halide Light Bulb Wattage Handy tip: the rule of thumb is to divide the number of watts of an incandescent light bulb by 10, which will give you the approximate number of watts of a led lamp. A familiar question is whether it is okay to change a traditional bulb, like the incandescent bulb, with an LED with a higher wattage equivalent. The simple answer to this question is yes. You can fix an LED with a higher wattage equivalent to an incandescent bulb. If you followed through till here, you would understand that LED bulbs' brightness is not calculated in watts but lumens.

The High-pressure sodium bulb and the low-pressure sodium bulb have close wattage. Its light is less bright than an LED bulb, although it consumes more energy. The sodium bulb produces white-yellow light. An LED bulb uses up about 50% less energy in producing light. Below is a table showing the LED equivalent for various sodium bulb watts. The energy-saving light bulb, also known as the compact fluorescent lamp, is actually a folded fluorescent strip tube lamp that fits inside a regular bulb fitting. BTU/h, BTU per hour, is a unit of power that represents the energy transfer rate of BTU per hour. BTU/h is often abbreviated to just BTU to represent the power of appliances. For example, an AC marked with a label of 12,000 BTU actually has a power requirement of 12,000 BTU per hour. LED light bulbs give off very little heat in comparison to CFL bulbs which release about 80% of their energy as heat. ComponentsIncandescent light bulbs are the least energy-efficient light source, with LED light bulbs using just 10% of the energy to produce the same amount of light as their incandescent equivalents. Incandescent Light Bulb Wattage Alongside the light intensity (number of lumens), the colour temperature is another deciding factor when choosing the right LED lamp.

Did you know that the lighting in the average home uses around 16% of the total power consumption? This means the lighting in your home holds considerable cost-cutting potential! Replacing your old lamps with a modern alternative is a good start. An LED bulb uses approximately 85% less energy than a halogen bulb. Though the halogen bulb glow is bright, it stimulates a lot of heat. Below is a table showing the LED equivalent of some halogen watts. are likely to be required to produce the same brightness. Same level of brightness, different amount of power required to produce it. Halogen light bulbs are more efficient than traditional incandescent bulbs, but still require much more energy to generate light than LEDs, which use around 85% less energy than halogen bulbs. Watts and lumens

When replacing an incandescent bulb or a halogen lamp, you will now have to choose between a LED or a compact fluorescent light. But what exactly is the difference? An LED bulb's energy utilization is about 90% lesser than that of an incandescent bulb. Since the incandescent bulb requires heat to generate light, it uses more energy. Below is a table showing the LED equivalent of various incandescent watts. The brightness of traditional light bulbs like the incandescent bulb and halogen bulbs is best measured using watts because its energy consumption transcends its brightness. However, bulbs that use better technology like the LED bulb use lumen as a measure of its brightness because, unlike the traditional light bulbs, an LED bulb's wattage (energy consumption) has nothing to do with its brightness. Lumen gauges the quantity of visible light, which is the light's brightness level. This is because such bulbs do not require ample energy to generate light; instead, they use lesser power but shine brighter. Nowadays, it's no longer the watt used to measure brightness but the lumen, while the watt is used to measure energy utilization. LED and CFL bulbs can be useful to serve different purposes, depending on the type of light that is needed for an environment. LED Lights can emit light in a specific direction, ideal for use as downlights in kitchens, bathrooms, hallways or for task-based lighting (e.g. reading). However there are also directional and wide beam angle LED lights available, providing more control of light angle and spread. In comparison, CFL lights provide widespread light, and so tend to be used in offices, schools or shops, but would not be suited for more specific lighting tasks such as downlights or reading lights.
