About this deal

En la versión de Anthony Brown las ilustraciones son maravillosas, tienen un nivel de detalle fantástico, me llegó a sorprender de los detalles que presenta, es increíble la ilustración. They set sail aboard the Venture, an old tramp steamer that travels for weeks in the direction of Indonesia, where Denham claims they will be shooting. Denham says that the skipper of a freighter gave him the only map that shows its location, having received it in turn from a native of the island who had been swept out to sea. While a 1933 monster movie might seem like a bad idea as bed time story for your tyke, somehow Browne pulls it off.

All goes well until photographers, using the blinding flashbulbs of the era, begin snapping shots of Ann and Jack, who is now her fiancé. This makes a lovely gift and a good addition to any child’s bookshelf, which will appeal to a wide age range. Never before appearing as a full colour book, there will not be a dry eye in the house as the last page is turned.

Hair-raising adventures providing endless thrills for the reader follow (just as in the film) until that now famous climax on that iconic building in New York . This is a picture book for older children, which will be sure to engage the most reluctant reader and will appeal to children of approx 7+, although it is also ideal to read aloud. I think it portrays a few sad and timeless truths: that humans break the spirits of strong and powerful creatures; greed is dangerous; we resort to killing as a way to solve problems. But the artwork has a lot of wonderful foreshadowing, and looks class all round, and the telling is a really good child-friendly read. Weakened and unable to hold on to the building, he gazes sadly at Ann one last time, before he loses his grip, and plummets to his death in the street below.

The violent fight between the two titans ends when Kong pries open the dinosaur's jaw until it breaks. with picture of crowned King Kong by Anthony Browne, the illustrator who has filled this exciting book with full-color striking pictures, simulated light brown Japan pager endpapers, 92 pages. Denham takes note of the situation and informs Driscoll he has enough trouble without the complications of a seagoing love affair. The language use is accurate for the time setting and almost poetic in nature, giving a kind of ‘film noir’ edge to the story. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Este libro plantea la barbarie ejercida por el hombre civilizado que act a con mayor brutalidad que la "bestia" a la que combate. I did quibble about how strongly Ann was made to look like Monroe early on, and it was weird she got bought so much stuff and only ever wore one cocktail dress the entire cruise to Skull Island.

Además en el personaje femenino se plasma el síndrome de cenicienta, ya que por una parte Kong buscaba cuidar a Ann y por otra parte su prometido salía siempre en su rescate. Anthony Browne has always acknowledged this classic cult movie to be one of the most potent influences on his work, and now he presents his own version with striking full color illustrations. In any case, I just adore the original movie which still stands the test of time, so I had to have this in my collection. I bought this for my nine year old son, who is a big fan of the film of King Kong, and he was riveted.

You could quite easily follow the story by images alone but I enjoyed the text and found it accurate.
