About this deal

The HP beans had a distinctive tangy flavour which I quite enjoyed, thanks to the vinegar in the recipe. Then there are brands such as Heinz Beanz and Branston and then there are more expensive organic products. Spend majority of leisure time doing activities such as watching TV, playing computer games, on the internet, reading, cooking, driving, general household chores.

Opened: Empty unused contents into a suitable for covered container, Keep refrigerated and use within 2 days. Having said that, if you're someone who doesn't like strong flavours, or if you plan to serve the beans with cheese or heavy seasoning, these are a great option. They were initially withdrawn from the market following the acquisition by Heinz of the HP brand from Premier Foods earlier this year.

I had to reduce the beans sauce on the hob rather than a zap in the microwave, taste alright and the beans are not hard like some cheap ones but there is a definite lack of beans in a thin runny sauce. Baked beans are an affordable and delicious staple in many UK households, with millions of tins sold each year. As you would expect, this budget friendly option isn't packed with flavour, but does tick a lot of boxes when it comes to texture. While we are clearly obsessed with this beloved comfort food, many would argue there's not much that can beat a generous serving of beans on toast. taste test has revealed that swapping to cheaper supermarket labels doesn’t necessarily mean compromising on flavour.

The relaunch follows speculation that Heinz was considering changing the recipe of its flagship Baked Beanz in response to a high profile campaign by Premier Foods for its recently-launched Branston Beans, which claimed a victory over its rival on taste. Typical jobs: hospital/ward nurse, waitressing in a busy restaurant, cleaner, porter, labourer/construction worker, gardener, farm worker. HP Beans - I have a very busy guest house in Coleshill, and have used HP Baked Beans always, but over the years I have noticed less and less beans and more and more runny sauce as found in cheaper beans, soon we will be paying per bean and not per tin. Now on recently opened cans of hp beans if find the bean content the same about 60% and the sauce is becoming thinner. The texture wasn't too bad compared to the more expensive versions, but I found they lacked flavour. Tasters said the texture of the Heinz sauce and beans were high points, but more than a third reported that the flavour was “too weak”.

Having been naïve with rival brands, I sheepishly tucked into Branston's version and was met with what I had been waiting for.Light - Have a job that involves long periods of sitting (office-based / driving) or are home-based and sitting for much of the day.

HP Beans are the premium baked beans unlike the watery offerings provided by a German sounding brand. At ASDA, we do everything we can to make sure the information about the products we sell is always as accurate as possible. By the time it came to sampling Branston's beans, I was hesitant to believe their promise of "rich, thick, tomatoey sauce".For decades, baked beans have offered a quick and relatively healthy meal option which can be tucked away in the cupboard for months at a time. The beans were among the smallest I tried, and whilst the texture was ok, it left me feeling underwhelmed. Reading the label on the HP tin it does say in the contents that their is 43% beans and the rest is made up of an insipid red coloured water. The flavour wasn't overwhelming and to me tasted much more like my idea of a classic baked bean, rather than the sweeter versions I had tried.
