Read more about the condition New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging is applicable). Remove the cable connection from the valve, you usually need to press a bar on the side of the mechanism. It is quote new, we moved in around 8 months ago and I would say it's only been done in the last year or so. Unfortunately some moron has completely blocked in the back of the toilet (as it looks good, until something goes wrong.

My unit was difficult to get out of the cistern, but when i gave it a really hard twist ,which was maybe a bit more than a 1/4 turn it popped out easier, its easy peasy to get it back into its cradle that stays in the cistern. Inside the bowl there is a hex-head stainless bolt on a stainless washer, which in turn is on top of a rubber washer. If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag.I have had a look at the valve inside the cistern, but was not sure how to disconnect the hose - or the valve for that matter. I've had the same problem but I wasn't sure if it was the WD40 or whether the spring in the grey box behind the push button was the culprit. If you are lucky enough to have a downstairs toilet then shove a half empty toilet roll under the lever to keep it open on cold. just had the exact same thing, kept taking the flush unit out, put it back in and it worked, just once tho then back to square one, lubing the plunger with WD40 works. The valve is suitable for retro-fit, new installations and high traffic areas and can be used with concealed, close coupled and low level cisterns. somhairle wrote:The cistern top simply lifts off but the attached hose prevents it from being set aside.

Now use a pencil or something and push the little leaver back down, this should flush the toilet and give you an idea how it works.Toilet flush valves are replacement parts for the toilet flush system, inside a toilet cistern that controls tank filling and toilet flushing. I will post an image of the top of the valve in case anyone knows if this is not a simple twist-off fitting.
