About this deal

For exclusive writing, new releases and a FREE deleted scene from Tim, sign up to the Readers’ Club at TM Logan dot com. The characterisation also feels a little weak and although it is Joe who readers will come to know the best he is the living and breathing embodiment of a naive, wide-eyed family man who bears the brunt of the childcare with Mel assuming the role of the more independent party. or in the case of this book perhaps if Joe hadn’t followed his wife’s car when he saw it, he wouldn’t have ended up in the middle of a murder investigation.

Jo kept going on about how he wanted to make his Marriage work and stay with his wife after her affair yet he constantly checked her phone, didn't trust her which of course is understandable i just never understood why after she hurt him so much and got him into all the trouble she did why he stuck by her and why he wanted to make the marriage work. Posing questions about a persons relationship with technology and how much importance it has come to assume over our lives, this mediocre psychological thriller is a rapid, quick-fire read, but the basic premise of, “can I trust my partner? Christmas is around the corner, and if you’re a reader who likes to theme your reads to the season, today’s blog post is for you! Finding out your wife has been cheating on you for the past five months and then having to deal with what someone was doing to your life via social media is what Joe was dealing with. If you’re looking for a fun, fast read to end your summer with, this might be the right one for you!The vast majority of this book is inoffensive if a bit predictable at its worst, binge-worthy and easy to devour at its best. So what the reader is left with from that initial opening is having to wade through all the lies upon lies that pile up for the rest of the book. When I see such a fervent statement in which a respected individual says, with no equivocation, that I absolutely won’t figure something out, I tend to take it as a bit of a personal challenge. I am beyond excited to have discovered this author, and now I’m even more excited to learn that he has another book out! And, as the last person to see him — and because their meeting wasn’t so friendly — he’s in the police’s crosshairs as the prime — and only — suspect.

When he gets into the parking garage, he finds that his wife, Mel, has already left the safety of the garage and, presumably, went into the hotel to which the garage is attached. Taking a little detour at the request of his son, who sees Mommy’s car on the road and wants to follow it, which of course, Joe does. Logan will take readers on quite the tension-filled ride through our present day dependency on the internet and the lock-in of technology. Joe Lynch is just an ordinary happily-married man - until one split-second decision throws his life into crisis. I’m confident there will be many readers for whom the addictive pacing and easy-to-binge entertainment value of LIES will make it very well suited, I simply wasn’t one of them.Another thing that propelled me through this rather-thick-for-a-thriller book: the promise of a twist.

Days later and unable to make contact with Ben the news from his fragile wife, Beth, that he has disappeared and gone incommunicado puts friendships under strain with Joe and Mel both knowing just a little too much about his final movements before the disappearance. As Joe confronts Ben, an angry scuffle ensues and results in an unconscious Ben sprawled on the concrete floor and unresponsive.

That’s not to say it isn’t without its own value, though, and readers seeking a dramatic binge-read may enjoy it yet. So averse was I to the book’s finale that I’ve actually had to actively remind myself just how much I didn’t hate the book’s preceding 380-odd pages to make this review balanced. THE DREAM HOME (coming Feb 2024) follows Adam, Jess and their three children, who find the family home they’ve always dreamed of and move in full of plans for the future. As Joe goes deeper into his investigation of his own personal life, it begins to appear that someone is threatening him - and that they are using the anonymity of social media to do so without repercussion.

Lie after lie is batted around, and the author exposes the intrusive nature of technology these days and how the lack of privacy can tear lives apart. His life explodes when he sees his wife with a long time friend and realizes that they might be having an affair. The ending was one I never saw coming, and the entire read kept me on the edge of my seat, especially with its current and relevant topics of hacking and overuse of social media. Why include the scene in which he saw a man smoking and — because he knew smoking killed you — he expected him to fall down, dead, right that very moment? lies, and he goes down the rabbit hole trying to uncover just what - if anything - in his life is as he believed it to be.
