It did take me a few times to get used to selecting the different functions, but it’s easy to remember now. Teaching kids to stay under the covers until a preset time assures more sleep in general and those golden weekend lie-ins. it wobbles over – like the egg too and if it gets switched off, bam, you have to reset the whole thing from start. There is also a book to accompany it, and we read the bedtime story of the pig who stayed up late and was too tired to enjoy the next day a few times.

Emily has always been a bad sleeper, well she sleeps well but getting her to sleep and to stay in her room if she wakes is a different matter, recently we introduced the Gro Clock in a bid to help get into a routine. This ingenious, top-quality gadget will ensure plenty of sleep for them, and more precious sleep for you, too!

We have a Gro-Clock but I’m still trying to get into a routine with it and don’t recognise the difference between sleep time and getting up time yet! The 10 soothing sounds which include well-known lullabies and white noise are played through the high-quality speaker to help settle your child back to sleep.

When the child is ready for bed you initiate the sleep mode manually and the sun winks, the yellow backlight fades and is replaced by the star with the blue backlight. It also provides a good night light and you have the option of turning off the night light function if you want. The Groclock includes a feature allowing parents to choose whether or not to display the digital clock during the usual ‘stars to sun’ countdown. We love our Gro Clock, Boo loves to say goodnight to the sun each night and tell me that the stars are sleeping – hopefully in a little while she will start to ‘get’ that she needs to stay in bed until it changes to the sun again!
