While primarily meant to be used with standard Nintendo GameCube Controllers, the adapter is compatible with all of the original system's controllers, including the WaveBird Wireless Controller and the DK Bongos. Buttons somehow work, but mapping is confusing due to the double translation and there are reliability issues.

Due to the accessory's high demand, Nintendo released more Adapters into 2015 though it has not seen an official release since then. Don't know if or how that translates to the Switch, but I was wondering if there are major differences and what to watch out for.
